SPEY Single Cask | A Limited Distillery Release

Back to List
SPEY-Single-Cask-Whisky

The simpler the flavour, the more it draws you in. Single Cask is the purest, most unadulterated expression of Scotch whisky: the spirit of a single distillery, drawn from a single cask and bottled straight from the wood, with no blending and no alteration, so that every bottle keeps its entirely natural character.

Over the past decade, as more and more connoisseurs have discovered single cask whisky, stocks have fallen sharply. Casks aged 30 years and over, in particular, have become a vanishing treasure that collectors pursue. A legendary flavour cannot be ordered on demand; it waits for the discerning few who recognise it and choose to keep it.

The Final Chapter of the Art, Returned to the Craftsman's Hands

SPEY-Single-Cask-Finished-by-Hand

SPEY Single Cask is the art of distilling at its most complete. When the whisky leaves the oak, it is neither chill-filtered nor diluted with water, so its character remains exactly as it was in the cask. It then passes into the hands of our craftspeople: each textured label is applied to the bottle by hand, the neck is fully sealed in black wax, and a burgundy wax seal is set on the label as a mark of the care given to every bottle of SPEY. A journey of several decades is completed by hand.

Three Uncompromising Principles

100% Pure Craftsmanship
Made only from natural ingredients, following hand-distilling traditions handed down over centuries. Every precious drop is sealed in oak and never blended or altered, so that what nature gave is expressed in full.

100% Genuine Flavour
Never chill-filtered, to keep the whisky's original richness and aroma.

100% True Strength
Never diluted. Bottled at the strength at which it left the cask.

    The Distiller as Artist

For more than 250 years, the artist distillers of SPEY have held the water of life in awe. They watch over a secluded distillery in the upper reaches of the River Spey that has only a single pair of stills, and through exceptionally slow distillation and exacting traditional craft, they pursue day after day, year after year, the perfect form whisky had when it was first made.
