SPEY-Worlds-Best-Single-Cask-Whisky

In March 2021, the best single cask whiskies from countries around the world came together at the World Whiskies Awards (WWA) to compete for the title of World's Best. After a closely fought contest, Speyside Distillery came out on top, and SPEY became home to a World's Best Single Cask whisky. SPEY Single Cask has been described as a vanishing diamond. It comes from Speyside Distillery, where production is extremely small, follows hand-distilling skills handed down for generations, and is bottled straight from the cask. Every bottle opened is one fewer in the world: a vanishing treasure that cannot simply be ordered.

Alongside the highest honour of World's Best Single Cask, SPEY also took a category win, a silver medal and a bronze medal at the World Whiskies Awards, setting a record of three consecutive years as overall category winner. SPEY draws on distilling skills passed down through generations of an old whisky family and on the exceptionally pure water at the source of the River Spey. Its aroma has won over royalty, and continues to earn its place on the winners' lists of the world's leading competitions.

SPEY Single Cask | A Limited Distillery Release

The simpler the flavour, the more it draws you in. Single Cask is the purest, most unadulterated expression of Scotch whisky: the spirit of a single distillery, drawn from a single cask and bottled straight from the wood, with no blending and no alteration, so that every bottle keeps its entirely natural character.

    The Distiller as Artist

For more than 250 years, the artist distillers of SPEY have held the water of life in awe. They watch over a secluded distillery in the upper reaches of the River Spey that has only a single pair of stills, and through exceptionally slow distillation and exacting traditional craft, they pursue day after day, year after year, the perfect form whisky had when it was first made.

Five Golds at the "Oscars of the Spirits World"

In 2020, SPEY set a remarkable record of five gold medals at what is often called the Oscars of the spirits world. Distilling skills handed down for more than two hundred years continue to place SPEY on the winners' lists of major competitions, and at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC), the most authoritative competition in the industry, SPEY took five golds and one silver in a single year.
