For more than two centuries, SPEY has devoted itself to the making of whisky. It follows to the letter a distilling manual handed down through ten generations, seeks out the purest water around the distillery, and studies the secrets of oak cask craftsmanship, much as an artist facing their life's work pushes imagination, balance and beauty to their limits.
The distiller controls every stage personally: temperature and humidity, the selection of the heart of the spirit, a fermentation of more than 120 hours and a painstaking double distillation. This is why the distillery was never going to be a place of mass production, and why SPEY's aged whiskies have for many years been extremely scarce and little known to the outside world.
The new SPEY Core Vintage Series presents five whiskies of different ages. Each is born of the distiller's method and craft, and together they restate the art of distilling for which SPEY is known: delicate, and made with complete attention.
